IBM Corp. is preparing for a major move in Austin, as they plan to relocate their offices to a brand new development by Hines at the north end of The Domain, located at 11901 N. MoPac Expy. With this move, IBM aims to consolidate their Austin teams into a single strategic location, further strengthening their presence in Central Texas. The development will house two 14-story towers, where IBM will lease approximately 320,000 square feet. This is notably less than their current 800,000 square feet occupancy at 11501 Burnet Rd. IBM intends to occupy the entirety of one tower and two of the top six floors in the adjacent tower when the development is complete. Hines is scheduled to commence construction in late 2023, with an expected completion date in 2027. Key players involved in this project include design architect Munoz + Albin, architect firm Kirksey, landscape architect Hitchcock, civil engineer Kimley-Horn, and structural engineer Dunaway. CBRE has represented Hines during this process.
