Action! Hill Country Studios developing $267 million film, TV studio in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS – Hill Country Studios is planning a $267 million film and tv production center. Once complete, the studio will be the largest of its kind in Texas. 

The facility will house 310,000 sf of modular office and workshop space. In addition, it will have 15 acres of outdoor production space and 12 sound stages totaling 3​​10,000 sf. 

Features include a 50-seat theater, coffee shop, restaurant, and post-production facilities. 

Twenty-five acres are being allocated for commercial space and future vendors. 

Foley Design is the project architect. Construction begins in early 2023.​
