The city of Kyle welcomed Bryan Langley as their new city manager on April 18, concluding an eight-month search following the departure of former City Manager Scott Sellers last September. Bringing a wealth of experience and fresh ideas to the table, Langley will officially step into his new role later this month.
Langley commenced his journey towards becoming a city manager through a temporary role in the Office of Financial Services for the city of Dallas. After acquiring his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas, he was offered a permanent position and swiftly advanced through the ranks. Driven by his passion for working with councils and communities, Langley sought a career as a city manager.
In his capacity as Kyle’s new city manager, Langley has established three primary goals for his term. First, he aspires to become well-acquainted with the organization and community by engaging with various stakeholders and comprehending their requirements. Next, Langley aims to prioritize the city’s capital projects, including executing the $300 million bond program sanctioned by voters. Lastly, Langley intends to present a proposed budget to the City Council within his initial 60 days of office.
Langley’s extensive expertise in managing sizeable construction contracts, formulating financing plans, and devising budgets will be invaluable in his new position. Although he recognizes the unique challenges presented by Kyle’s rapid growth, Langley views it as a chance to contribute to something exceptional and help shape the community’s future.
