Two businesses in New Braunfels will be closing at the end of March, including one that has been operating in the city for 137 years.
ADM Milling Co., located at 398 E. San Antonio St., New Braunfels, and formerly known as the Dittlinger Mill, will close at the end of March. Parent company Archer Daniels Midland confirmed the closure to Community Impact. ADM is working with those currently employed at the New Braunfels plant to find work elsewhere in the company or offer a financial package and support to find employment elsewhere.
The Book Haus, an independent retailer located at 992 Hwy. 46 W., Ste. 102, New Braunfels, announced they will close March 31. The liquidation sale began Feb. 20 until they close. The Book Haus carries new and used books and offers store credit in exchange for books that customers bring in.
It is always sad to see businesses close, but it is important to remember the impact these businesses have had on the community and the memories they have created.
