AUSTIN—July 27, 2022. Brookfield Residential Properties (Brookfield), a leading North American new home builder and land developer, today announced its celebratory groundbreaking ceremony of the long-awaited Skyline Park, located within their master-planned community, Easton Park, on Wednesday, August 3. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a sneak peek at the renderings of the much-anticipated green space that will provide a cultural oasis in the east side of Austin.

“Skyline Park will continue to enhance the family-friendly aspects to the Easton Park community and provide Austin’s eastside community with a vital space for play, events and programming,” said Brookfield Residential Vice President of Land, Matt McCafferty.

The 25+ acre Skyline Park transforms the East Austin park system and will be a destination for the entire community. The park will boast expansive skyline views of downtown Austin, a bridge connection that will resemble the Pennybacker Bridge, a splash pad, an open lawn, public art, and two specific planned playgrounds – one for juniors (2-5 years old) and one for older children.

“Brookfield is dedicated to expanding and preserving Austin’s green space while creating destination for the community to come together and thrive while enjoying the outdoors,” said Tammy Schneider, Brookfield Residential Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

In addition to project partners, invitees to the Skyline Park groundbreaking include city of Austin officials, investors, and more. The event will take place on the project site and will begin at 8:00 a.m. with remarks from Matt McCafferty of Brookfield Residential; Vanessa Fuentes, city of Austin Councilmember; Andy Brown, Travis County Judge; and Travis County Commissioner Margaret Gomez. Upon the conclusion of the ceremony guests are invited to mix and mingle while enjoying refreshments and light bites while viewing new project renderings.

“With a $13M investment into the park, Brookfield believes that Easton Park will be one of the most amenity-focused communities in Austin, between our pocket parks, trails, open space, and other major amenities,” said Brad Chelton, Brookfield Residential President, Texas. “We are very excited about the addition of a second public art piece on the property located at Skyline Park. Brookfield is a supporter of the arts, and we are excited to share it with the rest of the community.”

Other entities involved in the project include TBG, landscape architect; CBD Engineering, civil engineer; Stanley Studio, architect; PKA, structural engineer; and CMP, project management consultant. Skyline Park is anticipated to be complete in 2023.

Easton Park, a 2,300-acre master-planned community in Southeast Austin, was inspired by the amazing parks around the world and is focused on celebrating the best of Austin living with a vibrant community that enjoys activities like live music, food trailers, movies in the park, running on the trails, and more. Located 12 miles from downtown Austin, Easton Park is a one-of-a-kind community connecting residents to the city of Austin.
