The five candidates for the Lakeway City Council are running for the upcoming election on May 6. Community Impact Staff recently asked each candidate four questions to help residents get to know them better.
The first question asked was what inspired them to run for City Council. Candidate A shared that they have been a resident in Lakeway City for over 20 years and wanted to give back to the community. Candidate B shared that they have been passionate about local government and have been attending City Council meetings for over five years.
The second question asked was what their top priority would be if elected. Candidate A shared that they wanted to focus on improving the infrastructure and public safety of the city. Candidate B shared that they wanted to focus on increasing economic development and creating opportunities for small businesses.
The third question asked was what they think sets them apart from other candidates. Candidate A shared that they have a proven track record of public service and have held multiple positions in the city. Candidate B shared that they have a deep understanding of the city’s budget and financials, having served on the Finance Committee for many years.
The fourth question asked was what their vision for the city is. Candidate A shared that they want to create a vibrant and sustainable city that provides a high quality of life for all residents. Candidate B shared that they want to create a city that is open and inviting to new businesses, while maintaining its small-town charm.
